DRAMA

The award winning performing arts program at GCS provides many opportunities for our students. We offer a drama class and an opportunity to participate in a fall play, spring musical, and summer performance.

ART

The GCS Art classes are designed to spark your interest in different media. In class we use charcoal, pencils, watercolors, acrylics, colored pencils, clay, markers, and so much more.

MUSIC

The music department at GCS consists of two elementary classes, and a middle and high school class that all meet every week. In addition, a high school choral ensemble is chosen through open auditions every fall.

The fine arts program at GCS has a storied 10-year history of excellence and success. Throughout the school year, students perform in a variety of plays, both musical and non-musical, which culminate in a spring performance held at the historic Mishler Theatre in downtown Altoona. We are competitive with both public and private schools in Blair, Cambria, and Centre Counties, and have won several Isaac Awards in the areas of performance and stagecraft. These accolades, however, are not why I would choose GCS. This program, at its core, has a heart that reflects Christ. From the students to the directors, we strive to see Christ glorified onstage through the gifts and talents He has provided. In a culture of entertainment that emphasizes “me”, it is significant to see a theatrical group that emphasizes “Him”.
