Dear GCS Parents,

We knew it was going to be a different type of year but then again what hasn’t been different over the last 9 months. Operating any business or school is a real challenge these days. As many of you know, first hand, the impact of shutdowns, capacity limitations, mask mandates and outbreaks have had on the ability of any organization to stay open.
Our teachers, staff and administrators that have shown up every day to teach and love our students. They’ve done this while wearing masks and enforcing social distancing as best they can. While we have had a few teachers and students test positive for COVID, our contact tracing protocol has determined that none of those cases originated within the Great Commission School body during normal school operations. This is a testament to God’s hand of protection, his guidance given to our COVID planning team and the accountability that we have all shown in adhering to that plan. Have we had some teachers and students test positive or need to quarantine? Yes, but we have been successful in quarantining quickly and minimizing any onsite contact. At this time, we will continue to be accountable to the plan that we implemented in August with no alterations. This plan was put in place for a time such as the one we find ourselves in today. The last three months have been practice and now its game time. That being said, lets always remember to be vigilant when someone, at home, doesn’t feel well or shows potential symptoms. Always call the school and we will work with you to keep your student supported as they recover and/or remain quarantined. Make sure that your student(s) are aware of the mask and social distancing guidelines and help us emphasize the importance of 100% compliance. If they want to wear their mask all day, they may certainly do that as well. I’m very proud to say that Great Commission Schools have been blessed to continue serving you and our students, on site, every day.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a healthy New Year!
