GCS Family,
I pray this email finds you all doing well even in the midst of this chaos. As of now, many of you have probably read/saw the report released by Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Department of Health regarding the mandatory wearing of masks when students return to school. The new mandate from the government does apply to private schools.
GCS has a pandemic team that is comprised of students, parents, faculty/staff, and administration. I just released our tentative plan to our team last week. We are meeting next week to discuss what is in the plan and make any necessary changes. Then on Thursday, July 16th, it has to be approved by the board at the board meeting (6:30 pm in the auditorium). Reminder: board meetings are open if you want to attend. Providing all that goes well, we will release the full plan on July 17th. As of right now, because of the mask mandate, our plan is that kids will have to wear masks at the arrival, departure, and transition to classes. Once in their classrooms, they will be able to remove their masks. Again, that is tentative and can be changed at any point given any changes or new mandates.
