PARTS 3 AND 4: 5 Reason’s to attend the GCS Open House

Have you been considering Christian Education for your family? Are you seeking a smaller class size and nurturing environment? What about a dedicated staff that encourages students to learn and support each other? Well look no further, this blog series is for you! Don’t miss out on reading the “Top 5 Reasons Why You Should Attend the GCS Open House” blog series – a five part series written by Superintendent Jennifer McConnell designed to encourage families to learn more about our school and community by experiencing it together at our February 26th Open House!

5 Reason’s to attend the GCS Open House:

3. Meet the Parents

4. Interact with Current & Former Students

5. Experience the GCS Difference

3. Meet the Parents!

Did you know that we have a Parent-Teacher Fellowship (PTF) that gathers to increase the ministry here at Great Commission Schools? The purpose of the PTF is to foster communication between parents, teachers, students, and administrators. Their goal is to provide support to GCS in areas of scholastic pursuits, extracurricular activities, assist in fundraising for school classrooms and programs, be advocates for students, and ultimately enhance community spirit in a Christ-centered way.

At the open house, you’ll meet some of these parents and learn more about the programs they offer. The PFT has many ways for you to get involved such as athletics, spiritual life, academics, fine arts, fundraising, and more! You are sure to find an area that works for you!

4. Interact with Current and Former Students

Great Commission Schools has been operating since 1996. Since that time, we have seen many students pass through our halls and graduate from our school. When you attend Open House, you may be given a tour from a faculty member, a parent, an administrator, or even one of our very own alumni or current students.

This will give you the opportunity to ask candid questions about student life and student experiences here at GCS and get a better feel of what your child or children would experience daily from their perspective. Hear from alumni and current students as they retell their times walking the halls of GCS. Listen as they may recount challenging times and how they overcame obstacles or funny anecdotes like the one time when the senior class completely filled up Mr. Hildebrand’s room with balloons or got to pie-in-the-face Mr. Winquist during the pep rally.

Now that we’ve finished talking about the first, second, third and fourth reasons "Why You Should Come to the GCS Open House," come back next week, when GCS Superintendent, Ms. Jennifer McConnell, shares with us the #5 reason to attend our upcoming February Open House."
